Tesla Motors Inc. has announced the activation of Autopilot features for cars equipped with the “Hardware 2” camera and sensor set.
Tesla is now beginning to roll out upgraded software to customers with newer cars that launched in October. All Model S and Model X electric cars built since then are fitted with Hardware 2 that includes eight cameras, radar, 12 ultrasonic sensors and a new supercomputer. More »

Ultra-fast hyperloop train will travel from Dubai to Abu Dhabi in 12 minutes.
The futuristic Dubai has agreed a deal with Los Angeles-based startup Hyperloop One to study the potential for building a near-supersonic transport line linking it to Emirati capital Abu Dhabi. Electric car maker Tesla Motors has announced that it has entered into an agreement to buy Germany’s Grohmann Engineering to accelerate its production rate, the automaker said in a blog post.
Grohmann Engineering is based in Pruem, Germany and specializes in highly automated manufacturing techniques. The German firm has production lines for battery and fuel cells and produces batteries for numerous German and international automobile manufacturers. More »

The trucker shortage is one of the greatest threats to the shipping and logistics. The American Trucking Associations has raised concerns that the industry is facing a monumental shortage of qualified drivers.
The American Trucking Association reported a shortage of nearly 50,000 drivers by 2015, projected to grow to 174,000 by 2024.

Mazda has been taking the Millionth Miata on a world tour.
Mazda Motor Corporation has announced that production of the Mazda MX-5 Miata reached the milestone of one million Miatas made on April 22. It took them over 27 years to achieve that number with all of the units put together at their Ujina plant in Hiroshima where MX-5 mass-production started in April 1989.
