Electric car maker Tesla Motors has announced that it has entered into an agreement to buy Germany’s Grohmann Engineering to accelerate its production rate, the automaker said in a blog post.
Grohmann Engineering is based in Pruem, Germany and specializes in highly automated manufacturing techniques. The German firm has production lines for battery and fuel cells and produces batteries for numerous German and international automobile manufacturers. More »

A number of airports shut down in anticipation of Hurricane Matthew. Sanford International Airport closed at 8 p.m. Thursday, October 6. Officials said in a release that “due to current predictions” the airport would be forced to close and passengers should not go there until commercial flight activity resume. The trucker shortage is one of the greatest threats to the shipping and logistics. The American Trucking Associations has raised concerns that the industry is facing a monumental shortage of qualified drivers.
The American Trucking Association reported a shortage of nearly 50,000 drivers by 2015, projected to grow to 174,000 by 2024.
