A superstar tandem has opened a new Miami restaurant last Monday night.
Spanish superstar Enrique Iglesias and tennis legend Rafael Nadal have joined hands to bring an iconic eatery to South Florida. They have opened the new Tatel Miami at the Ritz-Carlton, South Beach, along Collins Avenue, near Lincoln Road. The famous duo’s restaurant is just the second location for TATEL, and the first in the U.S.
The singing star Enrique Iglesias who calls Miami home said he was “proud” to bring Tatel to Miami and happy to finally have a taste of his homeland there. He added he had missed the Spanish food since he was a little kid. The son of Latin crooner Julio Iglesias added he hopes Tatel will become a place where people would have fun and most importantly they are going to “have good Spanish food.”
A huge crowd of media and VIPs attended the grand opening. The two superstars arrived two hours later, Nadal dressed in a smart suit and Iglesias more casually, wearing the signature baseball cap.
Nadal took a break from his Miami Open preparations for the opening night of Tatel last Monday. He acknowledges that they didn’t expect that many people at the grand opening. The tennis legend also spoke about his friendship with Iglesias. He has known him “for a long time”, and that “union has gone very well.”
