A Denny’s waitress was surprised by Texas couple who gave her a brand new car when they found out she walks over five hours to and from work every day.
Adrianna Edwards’ walking days are finally over. A couple she served at the restaurant a few days ago bought her a new car, just hours after they had met.
The Texas couple, who wanted to remain anonymous, sat at Denny’s for breakfast when they found out that the waitress was walking 14 miles just to get to her job.
Adrianna, who was saving up money to buy a car, gave the woman extra ice cream. However, what she got in return was much sweeter.
The couple left after finishing their meal, but returned just a few hours later with a 2011 Nissan Sentra and handed Adrianna the keys. This car will turn the five-hour walk into a simple 30-minute commute.
At first, the waitress thought it was a joke. She said she felt like she was dreaming, every two hours, checking out the window to see whether the car was there. “When I see somebody in need, I’ll probably be more likely to help them out,” the waitress said.
The couple was very pleased that Adrianna Edwards appreciated the reward, however, they didn’t desire something in return.
Edwards says she can now start college earlier than she thought.
